The CIH Program
The nationally recognized Interpretive Host Course (CIH) program is designed for people who work in or provide services to settings such as zoos, parks, cruise ships, museums, nature centers, botanical gardens, tour companies, theme parks, historic sites, industrial sites, corporate offices, or anywhere else that people are interested in hearing a good story. Interpretive hosts provide “informal interpretation” in those settings. They usually have the most contact with visitors or customers, including receptionists, maintenance workers, greeters, ticket-takers, law enforcement personnel, sales clerks,volunteers, and food servers.
